Coal Grove survives taut tilt with Portsmouth | Ohio High School Football Game


The margin for error was so small it only piqued the anxiety, but Coal Grove didn’t mind, dispatching Portsmouth 66-63 at Coal Grove High on September 25 in Ohio football action.

Coal Grove broke in front at the beginning of the fourth quarter with a 66-63 lead over Portsmouth.

Through the early stages of the affair, the Trojans controlled the pace, taking a 42-36 lead into halftime.

The Hornets opened with a 14-6 advantage over the Trojans through the first quarter.
