VISAKHAPATNAM: The district administration plans to survey the various industries in the district. The training for the survey teams had started on Monday and around 30 lead officers attended the training in Industrial estate in the city.
An Aadhar number for industries would also be provided by the district administration which is a very novel way, district management said.
It is recalled that a series of incidents in industries had taken place in the recent months including LG Polymers, pharma and other industries had forced the district administration to collect the comprehensive information through this survey for future needs.
The survey teams engineering assistant and ward amenity officials would attend the training on Tuesday. The survey would start in a couple of days. The survey reports would be submitted by October 15.
The district has around 11,000 industries of various kinds, including 7,000 manufacturing units and 144 heavy industries. The district administration would conduct surveys of manufacturing industries first and service industries later.
The survey would be conducted through a mobile app by the survey teams. The comprehensive survey would take place from restart of the industries to present day by taking consideration of nine components, the joint collector (Asara) Govinda Rao told TOI.
The survey would be conducted with the engineering assistants of 733 village secretariats in rural areas and ward amenity secretaries of 572 ward level secretariats in urban areas. For this, around 30 lead officers were selected to lead the teams.
The training for survey teams was started on Monday and the training process would be taken care by the MPDOs in the rural area and municipal commissioners in the urban areas. APIIC officials would monitor in industries estates and industries department officials would monitor the process in rural areas.
The information collected through the survey would be kept as secret and the survey was conducted in 70 industries as an experimental basis already to know the technical hitches of the App, the district industries general manager Ramalingeswara Raju said.
The survey would include the details of each industry such as investment, extent of land, machinery type, marketing process, bank loans, exports and imports and others.
“We have already informed the management of the industries to extend their help and cooperate with the survey teams. Skill development officials and General Manager of the industries would monitor the entire process in the district, “ the district collector Vinaychand said.
